Shortly after 2 p.m. today, students and staff were evacuated from the building due to a trash can fire in the SW boys bathroom outside the language arts pod on the first floor

The Seattle Fire Department and Seattle Police Department arrived at the scene shortly after, and are currently investigating the fire as arson. The boys bathroom is currently off limits to students and staff, and is under investigation as a crime scene.

The day had already deviated from the its normal schedule, as SAT testing had taken place in the morning for Juniors and eighth grade tours were underway.
